From its start in 2003, Victory Within knew its mission: to create a musical big rig with no brakes, running over all the clichés that have come to water down music over the years. To set trends, not follow them.
After playing locally and across the Southwest, things took off.
* Vans Warped Tour 2004
* Featured on Mountain Dew's Amp 6-Pack CD
* A deal with a small Indie label.
* More touring.
* South by Southwest 2005.
* Another song on a compilation CD.
* Florida Music Festival 2005 with Everclear and Lit.
Playing towns and making friends in places they had never seen before. One of those places got wiped out by a flood. Another venue closed down after being considered a mecca of punk rock since before they were born. Signed to Whiskey Records, Victory Within put out their first full length album: "Paying for Yesterday's Mistake" selling only 1200 copies with pretty much no distrobution or support from their label. They sold all the cd's at shows with the support of their fans.
Then:
* New Panic Tour '06
* More writing and more touring.
* Warped Tour '06 at 8 miles per gallon and not knowing where the next tank of gas was going to come from.
In 2008, Victory Within recorded an EP at world famous NRG Studios in Hollywood CA engineered by Josh Newell, mixed and mastered at Wyman Records in Burbank CA by Jeff Kanan.
Late 2008 saw Victory Within:
* Touring through winter, freezing their Cajones off, while their friends vans were crashing all around them.
* A man caught himself on fire
* Winning Ernie Ball's Battle of the Bands for Los Angeles Taste Of Chaos 2007 - playin with The Used, 30 Seconds to Mars, Saosin, Senses Fail, Aiden, Chiodos and Evaline.
In the beginning of 2009, Victory Within took some time off from shows to really improve their songwriting skills.
In May of 2009, they put out a brand new EP which is the best songwriting and sonic recording done by Victory Within to date. This is going to be a promising year with new songs and New tour dates being booked now.
